PermaLip Implant is made of soft, solid silicone elastomer using an injection molding process to produce a naturally contoured implant with a smooth, non-porous surface. The implant is almost like a torpedo that is pointed on other ends. Based on the width of the lips, the implant is designed to be just slightly fitted within the corners of the lips.
The torpedo shaped implant is gently tapered on either ends and this can give a look of fullness on the lips. This only requires two incisions at each corner of the lips.
The torpedo shape comes in three kinds according also to the variety of the width of your lips. The widths are:
1.) 2 mm. – almost all people prefer this size and it can give you a subtle improvement.
2.) 3mm. – lips can look slightly fuller.
3.) 4mm. – this width can give you a dramatic improvement.
PermaLip Implants are very useful as an alternative to Derma Fillers. The advantage of Derma Fillers is that they are adjustable and absorbable. They are very popular on giving the lips a fuller look making it more defined. But the disadvantage is that the treatment should be repeated or else your lips will gradually return to its previous shape.
The results are immediate. Healing is relatively quick, most patients are able to resume regular activities within one week. The lip retains its natural softness and feel. There is no restriction of lip movement. The procedure is permanent but completely reversible.
